I had time set aside to blog, then skipped it cause I was feeling too negative and didn't want to spread the disease... that was about two weeks ago. I've learned Negative Nancy is an unwelcome guest that sometimes won't leave until you push her out the door.
Well dear, hope you don't hit the pavement too hard!
Say Hello to Jubilant Jenious!
Spent some time deep cleaning the house. I know you can't tell its Spring yet but I was hoping if I was proactive maybe some daisies would pop. All that pro activeness got me was allergies flarin' up. I haven't been the person you want to "hang with" while sick. Starting to feel better thankfully.
(what? It is time clean more...oh jeesh)
I need to be honest with my readers. I've struggled with portions still. It has been up and down.
I also have not been exercising.
Last but not least, I've been rationalizing my eating out excursions, going out to eat at nicer restaurants with the "it isn't fastfood" logic.
YET, I have made some major accomplishments.
#1 - I am down 10lbs and have NOT gained it back. I've had a plateau weight for years and I'm 10lbs below that. I've made errors in my eating and yet have NOT gained back. This is a HUGE accomplishment for me. It is also great motivation. For a long time I've felt like 275 was my "meant to be" weight because I could not stay below it without extreme measures. Well, I was wrong! Yippee!
#2 - I have not been perfect. I had a big piece of chocolate cake, two burritos, two helpings of potato salad....hey... it's been three weeks... this is just a few things. I have NOT let any of these indiscretions set me back! Sure I ate a piece of chocolate cake Saturday night, I went back to a correct portion of healthy eating the next morning. I didn't say "screw it". I said "opps... back to work!"
#3 - I have not bit my nails in over 3 days! It has been a challenge, especially while stressed. I have painted them with a clear coat that helps with strengthening. I am carrying around a file for snags. Couple more days and I may post a photo!
#4 - I have been making small steps in the "don't be so lazy" goal. I still ask my kids to get things for me time to time but I've reduced the amount of times I ask for assistance. I've personally defined cooking as my personal ME time so I don't ask the kids to help me. I kick them out of the kitchen and do my own thing. It is a good way to get ME time.
(Of course tonight was homemade pizza night, so that is family fun in the kitchen)
#5 - I've cut back on coffee. I was using coffee as a soda substitute (I quit soda at New Years). Realizing this I've limited myself to two cups a day. I now drink hot water or green tea when I crave coffee. Hot water has the same wakening effect as coffee.
So our three week absence hasn't been all bad news! I promise to be more active in the following weeks!
It is almost Spring, which means more spring cleaning but also means more time outside and hopefully the start of our GARDEN!!! Wish us luck.
Peace out for the night - I shall check in again soon!
