Fat, Naked and Dangerous....I'm Cupid!

Valentine's Day! Is this bigger than Christmas? Sometimes I wonder.
Love isn't once a year. Love is daily.
Let's embrace daily SELF LOVE.

I saw a photo the other day that described Cupid... it said:
I'm fat..naked...and dangerous....
OMGOSH I realized... I'm Cupid!

So let me help you fall in love....with yourself!

If you've dieted you've probably said one of the below :
"If I lose 10lbs I'll buy that new pair of shoes"
"If I don't eat any junk all week I'll reward myself with a chocolate bar"
"If I make it to the gym every day for two weeks I'll go get a mani/pedi".

Why so many stipulations? Why no room for missteps?
Reminds me of that Alanis Morissette song "..If you're flawless, then you'll win my love..."
We wouldn't accept that attitude from a lover, parent, or friend.. Why accept it from ourselves?

Instead we should show ourselves love and appreciation every day.
Reward yourself for being yourself, with things that are healthy for yourself.
(too many "yourself"? yeah I know. You get the point though, right?)

You fall off the trail and then get back on? That is awesome, please reward yourself.
Take a victory lap around the track! Reward yourself with a new challenge.
Feel the pride growing inside! I can't think of a better reward than being proud of yourself.
Focus on the positive. You've taken two steps forward.
Sure, you took one step back but you are still one step forward!

Please, do buy those shoes - get the mani/pedi - eat that chocolate bar as your indulgence - all of the above. Don't deny yourself shoes, a pedicure or a chocolate bar ...that is barbaric.

Please not set them as rewards for healthy living goals. How horrible are you going to feel about yourself when you didn't make it to the gym, so you "can't" get a pedicure and your feet are looking ragged? Seriously.
How is ugly feet suppose to motivate you?

Let's work on loving ourselves every day.

**I will drink 3 glasses of water today because I love my body.

**I will take a nice soak every Saturday night because my mind and body enjoy the quiet warmth.

**I will meditate and stretch every morning to prepare my body & mind for the day ahead.

**I will give myself a mani/pedi every Saturday night to accent my beauty.

**I will lotion my skin every day to protect it so it looks radiant in 30+years.

**I will eat nutritious food today to support my body; so I can feel my best and live longer.

**I will eat one square of chocolate because I am me and I freakin' ROCK!

I will love my body AS IT IS ....support it to be the BEST IT CAN BE ....

Let us all take a VOW to our bodies!

I take you ...well myself... to be mine.
I take you, with all your faults and strengths
I will help you when you need help
I vow to love you and care for you as long as I live.

This is all I ask you to do. Love thyself.

When you show your body love and appreciation it will show you love in return.
Healthy hair, healthy nails, healthy skin, healthy heart, healthy lungs, healthy WAIST...the list goes on.

Y'all know I'm preaching to myself as well, right?

MY LIFE UPDATE:
I have a major life decision on my mind and I need to reflect tonight.
Today I asked people if they thought I would be good at a specific somethin'somethin'.
Why did people see these positive traits in me that I can't see in myself?
Self conversation topic right there baby!

The only person who can help my self esteem, who can boost my self confidence is....ME!
It's like the book "There's a Monster at the end of this book" ... I'm my own freakin' monster.

Tonight:
*Gonna snuggle with the man while we watch some TV.
*Take a nice long shower and  lotion myself with pure shea butter (this stuff is amazing!).
*Going to put a clear coat on my nails (stop biting).
*I am going to relax in the shower and reflect on the positive changes I've made since January 1st.
*I am not going to reflect on the negatives tonight.

You must appreciate and love your body every day!  Oh and your mind is a part of your body!

Homework:
I want you ALL to strip naked and take a deep look at yourself.
Are those stretchmarks YOU? Is that spare tire YOU? Jiggling arms YOU?
No, that is not YOU. It is a part of who you are, who you allow yourself to be.
You are more than your body. You are the only one who can change your body.

LOVE yourself for yourself ....love your body and your body will love you.
Every day should be about improving our lives. It never ends.
It won't end when you are at your "goal weight", it won't end once you've finished that degree, it won't end <fill in blank>.

That means you don't hate yourself because you are 150lbs beyond your goal weight, or because you haven't finished your college degree or because <fill in blank>.

You love yourself for who you are and work towards self improvement every day.

It is not a war with yourself. It is a Journey of self love.

Cupid shoots arrows of LOVE! LOVE THYSELF!
